Lead Graphics Designer and Content Editor
Organisation: World Literacy Foundation Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos (Hybrid working) Required Office Days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Contract Type: Freelance / Fixed-term Contract (2 years) Start Date: March 2026 Salary: ₦475,00 per month
This role requires a portfolio. Applications without work samples will not be considered, as we need to see clear evidence of your design capability. About Us – World Literacy Foundation
The World Literacy Foundation is an international not-for-profit organization committed to improving access to education and eradicating illiteracy worldwide. We deliver literacy programmes, digital learning initiatives, advocacy campaigns, and partnerships that create long-term social and economic impact.
Our work supports children, young people, and adults facing barriers to education due to poverty, conflict, gender inequality, and limited access to resources. Through collaboration with governments, NGOs, educators, and global partners, we work to make literacy a fundamental right for all.
We are working to eradicate illiteracy by 2040. That is not a tagline – it a real goal.
More than 750 million people worldwide cannot read medicine labels, job applications, or traffic signs. We are changing this through literacy programmes operating across 54 countries.
The Role
The Lead Graphic Designer and Content Editor will ensure that the World Literacy Foundation and its associated organisations present a clear, compelling, and consistent visual identity across all external and internal channels.
You will create graphics and multimedia content for World Literacy Foundation and our organisations including UK Reads, USA Reads, Sun Books, and ROOP (Reading Out of Poverty). This includes social media content that earns attention, email visuals that drive donations, reports people actually want to read, logos that communicate mission, and web assets that convert visitors into supporters.
This is not a production-only role. You understand that social media is a battleground for attention. You know how to design for the scroll stop. You understand when design should lead and when content should speak for itself. A clear infographic that makes literacy data scannable and shareable is valuable. A powerful image that gets shared hundreds of times is also valuable. You have the design skills to create both, and the strategic judgment to know which will drive results.
