Compensation

Role Overview
Fairaction Nigeria is scaling a proven sustainability model for long-term, reliable water delivery developed through years of field implementation, data collection, and operational learning. We are seeking a high-capability General Manager to lead organisational performance, fundraising, partnerships, and operational effectiveness.
This is a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for translating Fairaction’s sustainability model into efficient operations, strong funding outcomes, and measurable targets. The General Manager reports directly to the Directors and is accountable for delivery across all agreed organisational targets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic and model oversight
- Develop a deep working understanding of the Fairaction sustainable water delivery model and ensure it is correctly implemented across programmes and operations.
- Ensure alignment between strategy, operations, and funding objectives.
Operations and management
- Provide overall managerial oversight of day-to-day operations to ensure smooth, efficient delivery of activities.
- Manage and coordinate staff roles, workloads, and performance across teams.
- Establish clear operational procedures, workflows, and reporting lines.
- Identify operational gaps, risks, and inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
- Support operational planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Fundraising and partnerships
- Drive fundraising and income generation, including grants, donors, institutional funding, and strategic partnerships.
- Lead high-level stakeholder engagement with donors, government agencies, partners, and affiliates.
Performance, reporting, and governance
- Set operational, fundraising, and organisational targets in collaboration with the Directors.
- Track performance against targets and report directly to the Directors.
- Prepare and present clear, professional reports for Directors, affiliates, and the Annual General Meeting.
- Represent Fairaction Nigeria in high-level meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements (Strict)
Do not apply if you do not meet all the requirements below:
- Minimum 10 years professional work experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior management or executive role (e.g. General Manager, Country Lead, Operations Director, Program Director).
- Proven experience in fundraising, donor engagement, or partnership development with demonstrable outcomes.
- Exceptional communication skills, including leading high-level meetings, delivering presentations, and writing board-level reports.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams, systems, and operational processes.
- Proven capacity to report directly to the Board and Directors, including during Annual General Meetings.
- Must be available to work full-time, on-site at the Bodija office.

Highly Desirable
- Experience in WASH, infrastructure, sustainability, or development-focused organisations.
- Experience scaling programmes or organisations.
- Existing donor, corporate, or institutional networks in Nigeria.
