Finance and Accounting Manager (CPA)
Department: Finance
Reports To: Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Finance and Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial and accounting operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity. This role serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership and provides oversight of financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong leadership and analytical skills.
Proposed Work Schedule:
Days: Monday – Friday (Virtual / Remote Position)
Schedule: 2:00pm to 11:00pm (Nigerian Time Zone) | (1-hour unpaid lunch break)
8:00am to 5:00pm (U.S. Based, Eastern Standard Time
Hours: 40 hours per week minimum
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Manage internal and external audits and serve as primary audit liaison
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to leadership
- Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
Required Qualifications
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5-7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Prior management or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, audits, tax compliance, and internal controls
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Industry-specific experience as applicable
- Strong communication and leadership skills
