About the Client
Our client is a diversified and integrated commercial agribusiness operating hydroponic shade houses, large-scale plantain plantations, aquaponics systems, and an emerging agro-processing line for herbal teas, essential oils, and beef products. The organisation is scaling its operations and strengthening professional management systems to support expansion, value addition, and market leadership.
Role Purpose
The Senior Integrated Farm Manager will provide end-to-end technical, operational, and people leadership across crop production, aquaculture, and agro-processing units. The role requires a hands-on, commercially minded professional capable of optimising yields, enforcing quality standards, and driving operational efficiency across integrated farming systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Production Leadership
- Oversee hydroponic and protected agriculture systems including nutrient management, crop scheduling, disease control, and yield optimisation.
- Manage aquaculture and aquaponics operations, ensuring optimal water quality, fish health, feed conversion, and system integration.
- Supervise field crop production (with emphasis on plantain), including land preparation, planting cycles, pest and disease control, and harvest planning.
- Lead agro-processing activities (herbal teas, essential oils, beef products) in line with food safety, quality assurance, and production efficiency standards.
Operations & Planning
- Develop and execute annual and seasonal production plans and budgets.
- Establish and track KPIs across yield, mortality, labour productivity, input efficiency, and post-harvest losses.
- Implement and enforce SOPs, bio-security, and regulatory compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement in productivity, cost control, and quality consistency.
People & Site Management
- Lead, train, and supervise supervisors, technicians, and farm labour.
- Build a disciplined, performance-driven workforce culture.
- Ensure occupational health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld.
Quality Control & Value Chain Development
- Implement farm-to-factory quality control systems.
- Support product standardisation, branding readiness, and market expansion.
- Contribute technical input for certifications, audits, and export readiness.
Reporting & Strategic Support
- Prepare regular operational and management reports.
- Provide technical input for expansion projects, infrastructure development, and capital investments.
- Support investor, partner, and regulatory site engagements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Aquaculture, Animal Science, Agricultural Engineering, or related field (Master’s an advantage).
- Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in commercial farm management, with strong exposure to at least two of:
- Hydroponics / protected agriculture
- Aquaculture / aquaponics
- Plantation crop management
- Agro-processing operations
- Proven experience managing multi-unit operations and large teams.
- Strong financial and operational planning skills.
