About the Role

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking to recruit three (3) Project Officers, Value Chain to coordinate farmer clusters, input suppliers, and processors to improve productivity, quality, and traceability across programme priority value chains. This role will be offered on a two (2) year fixed term contract, subject to securing the award and availability of funding. Each Project Officer will be based in either one of the following locations (Ibadan, Benue, Kaduna).

Key Responsibilities include
  • Support the implementation of the programme value-chain interventions across assigned states, ensuring coherence with national and zonal strategies.
  • Facilitate linkages among farmers, aggregators, processors, logistics providers, and markets to strengthen vertical and horizontal integration.
  • Conduct value-chain and market systems assessments to identify gaps, leverage points, and opportunities for private-sector participation.
  • Promote use of digital traceability and monitoring tools to strengthen data-driven management of production and market activities.
  • Facilitate enterprise capacity building in production, processing, financial management, and market access.
  • Support the training of youth cooperatives on good agronomic and manufacturing practices, financial literacy, and enterprise sustainability.
  • Oversee all administrative aspects of the implementation including budgeting, procurement supporting with the drafting of agreements and contracts and logistical arrangements within ethical and procurement standards and guidelines.

About you

The ideal candidate should have experience working in agricultural value-chain development, agribusiness, livelihoods, or market systems programming. You should have proven experience engaging farmer cooperatives, MSMEs, and private-sector actors to strengthen production, processing, and market linkages.

You should have strong project management skills to handle multiple priorities within the assigned states in addition to excellent facilitation and administrative support skills. Operating with integrity and accountability is required to succeed in this role.

About our Offer

The starting gross salary on offer for this role is from NGN 11,255,100 gross per annum, depending on experience. A higher increment maybe provided for exceptional candidates.
