Job Description
Job Title: Finance Manager
Department: Finance & Administration
Reports To: Managing Director
Location: Isolo, Lagos.
Salary Range: 200,00 to 300,00
Job Summary
The Finance Manager will oversee the company’s financial operations, combining strategic financial management with hands-on accounting, project costing, cash flow control, and statutory compliance to support the firm’s engineering projects and daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting (Hands-On)
Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records, ledgers, and journals.
Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
Manage bank reconciliations, expense tracking, and financial documentation.
Budgeting, Costing & Project Finance
Prepare annual budgets and project cost estimates.
Monitor project expenses and control cost overruns.
Track project profitability and provide cost variance reports.
Support pricing and tender costing for engineering projects.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
Manage daily cash flow, payments, and collections.
Plan cash requirements for ongoing projects and operations.
Manage relationships with banks, suppliers, and contractors.
Statutory Compliance & Tax
Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and file taxes (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Company Income Tax, etc.).
Support external audits and regulatory inspections.
Payroll and Administration
Prepare payroll and ensure timely salary payments.
Manage pensions, statutory deductions, and employee reimbursements.
Support basic HR and administrative finance functions where required.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Establish simple, effective financial controls suitable for a small firm.
Improve financial processes and record-keeping systems.
Safeguard company assets and prevent financial losses.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional qualification (ICAN) is an added advantage.
2-3 years accounting/finance experience.
Hands-on experience with accounting software and Excel.
