Job Description
Job Summary:
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures. They aim to minimize project costs while ensuring quality and compliance with specifications and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and advise on project viability and cost efficiency.
- Monitor project progress and costs, including variations, to ensure adherence to budget.
- Conduct risk analysis and manage financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve cost-related issues.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts, change orders, and payments with contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports on project financial performance for management review.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certification or membership (e.g., NIS, RICS) is an advantage.
- Proven experience in cost estimation, contract management, and project management.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, or cost management tools.
