Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Inventory Controller to oversee inventory accuracy, stock audits, receiving, and internal stock transfers across our retail warehouse. This role is responsible for ensuring that physical stock matches system records, reducing inventory discrepancies, and maintaining strong control processes in a high-SKU environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control and Stock Accuracy
Conduct daily and weekly cycle counts across multiple SKU categories
Monitor stock levels and ensure ERP inventory records remain accurate
Investigate and resolve inventory variances and shrinkage issues
Maintain proper documentation for all inventory adjustments
Receiving and Stock Intake
Supervise receiving of incoming goods and verify quantities against invoices and purchase orders
Ensure proper labeling, shelving, and system entry of all received items
Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams on delivery discrepancies
Stock Transfers and Warehouse Movements
Manage stock transfers between warehouse locations and retail outlets
Track all item movements to prevent misplacement or loss
Ensure all transfers are properly recorded in ERP and supporting documents
Audit Preparation and Compliance
Support internal and external stock audits
Enforce warehouse inventory procedures and controls
Train warehouse staff on proper stock handling and inventory documentation
Reporting and Performance Monitoring
Prepare weekly inventory reports using Excel and ERP data
Provide management with updates on stock integrity, losses, and operational risks
Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or retail logistics
Strong understanding of inventory auditing, cycle counts, and stock reconciliation
Proficiency in ERP systems, QuickBooks, PHP and Microsoft Excel
High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Strong leadership and accountability mindset
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Inventory accuracy rate (target: 95–99%)
Reduction in stock variances and shrinkage
Timely completion of cycle counts and audit reports
Proper documentation and ERP compliance for all stock movements
