Job Description

Job Summary

The Head Waiter is responsible for supervising front-of-house operations and ensuring excellent customer service at all times. The role involves leading the service team, coordinating with the kitchen, and maintaining high service and hygiene standards in line with company expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Ensure all guests are welcomed warmly and served promptly
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally
• Maintain a high standard of service during peak hours
• Monitor customer satisfaction and service quality on the floor

Team Supervision

• Supervise waiters and service staff during shifts
• Assign duties and manage staff schedules and breaks
• Train new staff on service procedures and customer care
• Enforce discipline, punctuality, and proper grooming standards

Operations

• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth order flow
• Monitor order accuracy, portion presentation, and service timing
• Oversee opening and closing of shifts
• Handle POS transactions, and daily sales reconciliation where required
• coordinate dispatch riders

Hygiene & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
• Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and restrooms
• Ensure compliance with company policies and health regulations

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–3 years experience as a senior waiter, supervisor, or head waiter
• Experience in a restaurant, café, quick-service, or fast-casual environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage a busy service floor
• Basic knowledge of POS systems and cash handling
• SSCE / OND / HND qualification preferred
