Job Description
Job Title: Language Educators (Igbo & Hausa)
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Part-Time
Role Overview
We are recruiting qualified and passionate language educators to teach Igbo and Hausa languages on a part-time basis at a reputable educational institution in Lagos. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering engaging language instruction while promoting cultural awareness and effective communication skills among students.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Igbo or Hausa in line with the approved curriculum.
- Teach basic to intermediate reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and interactive learning environment.
- Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
Student Engagement & Support
- Encourage conversational practice and cultural appreciation.
- Support students’ language development through creative and interactive teaching methods.
- Maintain classroom discipline in line with school policies.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work collaboratively with other educators and school administrators.
- Participate in scheduled meetings and school language programmes as required.
- Communicate student progress effectively when necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Igbo, Hausa, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Teaching certification is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated proficiency in spoken and written Igbo or Hausa.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Passion for language teaching and cultural preservation.
