Role Title: Head, Human Resources and People Operations (Food Manufacturing)

Industry: Food Manufacturing / FMCG

Location: Sagamu, Ogun State.

Role Overview

The Head, Human Resources & People Operations will lead and manage the people function across Golden Oil’s food manufacturing operations and corporate teams. The role combines strategic oversight and strong operational execution, ensuring workforce effectiveness, compliance, and alignment with business and production goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end HR function across factory and corporate operations
  • Translate business objectives into practical people and workforce strategies
  • Oversee recruitment, manpower planning, and talent management across functions
  • Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, and grievance resolution
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws and food manufacturing standards
  • Drive performance management, productivity, and workforce efficiency initiatives
  • Partner with plant leadership on shift systems, attendance, and manpower optimisation
  • Oversee payroll coordination, HR administration, and policy implementation
  • Lead employee engagement, welfare, and culture initiatives
  • Develop HR team capability and ensure effective HR service delivery
  • Provide regular people insights and reports to executive management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 7 – 10 years HR experience, with strong exposure to manufacturing or FMCG
  • Proven experience leading HR operations in plant-based environments
  • Solid understanding of Nigerian labour law and industrial relations
  • Experience managing large headcount organisations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • CIPM certification is required (MCIPM is an advantage)
