Position Summary:

As a Christian Religious Studies (CRS) Teacher at our client’s school, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in CRS to secondary school students. The role involves imparting knowledge, fostering spiritual growth, and promoting ethical values in alignment with the Christian faith.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Delivery: Design and deliver comprehensive CRS lessons aligned with the Nigerian educational curriculum, ensuring engaging and effective teaching methodologies.

Spiritual Guidance: Provide spiritual guidance and mentorship to students, fostering an environment conducive to moral and ethical development based on Christian principles.

Lesson Planning: Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles while integrating biblical teachings and moral values into the curriculum.

Student Assessment: Conduct assessments, evaluate student progress, and provide constructive feedback to support individual student growth and academic achievement.

Extracurricular Activities: Organize and oversee extracurricular activities such as prayer groups, religious clubs, or community service initiatives to encourage students’ spiritual engagement and service-oriented values.

Parental Engagement: Maintain open communication with parents/guardians, providing updates on students’ progress, and collaborating to support their holistic development.

Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development, staying updated with educational trends, pedagogical advancements, and incorporating best practices into teaching methodologies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Christian Religious Studies, Theology, Education, or a related field. A postgraduate degree would be an advantage.
• Teaching certification and relevant teaching experience, preferably in a similar role within a secondary school setting.
• Deep knowledge of Christian doctrines, scripture, and the ability to impart this knowledge effectively to students.
• Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to relate well with students, colleagues, and parents within a multicultural environment.
• Commitment to the school’s ethos and values, demonstrating a strong personal faith aligned with Christian teachings.
