Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an efficient Production Manager who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the furniture production process to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role involves managing production teams, machinery, materials, and workflows while maintaining safety and continuous improvement across the factory.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and control daily production activities to meet output targets and delivery timelines.
• Supervise production staff including supervisors, machine operators, carpenters, upholsterers, and factory workers.
• Ensure furniture products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Stores to ensure availability of raw materials and timely dispatch of finished goods.
• Monitor production costs, minimize waste, and improve efficiency.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safety of machines, tools, and equipment.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards in the factory.
• Identify production challenges and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Prepare production reports on output, downtime, defects, and workforce performance.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate production staff to improve skills and productivity.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support lean manufacturing practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Wood Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4–7 years’ experience in a furniture or manufacturing production environment.
• Strong knowledge of furniture production processes (woodwork, upholstery, finishing, spraying, assembly).
• Good understanding of factory safety standards and quality control systems.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
