Job Description
Job Title: Site Engineer (Mid-Level & Jnr Level)
Location: Abeokuta, Ogun State
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Site Engineer to join our team in Abeokuta. As a mid-level Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations on construction sites, ensuring the project progresses smoothly, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will collaborate with the project manager, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that all tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage on-site construction activities in Abeokuta, ensuring work is performed according to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the project manager to develop work schedules, allocate resources, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Inspect construction work and materials to ensure they meet quality standards and compliance with project specifications.
- Assist in preparing project reports, including progress updates, site challenges, and variations from the original plan.
- Troubleshoot and resolve site-related issues promptly and efficiently, minimizing project delays.
- Coordinate and liaise with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth site operations.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.
- Prepare and maintain daily site reports and project documentation.
- Oversee the proper usage and maintenance of construction tools and equipment.
- Assist in project budget preparation, ensuring that expenditures align with financial plans.
- Participate in regular project meetings, providing updates on site progress and suggesting improvements where necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and design implementation.
- Ability to manage and supervise construction activities efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members, contractors, and clients.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize them effectively.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Builder trend, or similar tools).
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in construction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 1-5 years of experience in a mid-level site engineering role.
- Experience managing a team of technicians and laborers.
- Familiarity with project management tools and techniques.
- Membership in a professional engineering organization (e.g., Nigerian Society of Engineers) is a plus.
