Role
The H&B Country Head is responsible for driving overall growth, profitability (P&L ownership), and operational excellence of the Health & Benefits line of business within Nigeria.
This role oversees all H&B resources in the country and partners closely with regional and country leaders to execute strategic priorities, achieve financial targets, and deliver exceptional client value.
Responsibilities 1. Client Relationship Management & Delivery
- Lead the delivery of all WTW H&B products and services in Nigeria.
- Develop and execute client strategies to deepen, broaden and strengthen profitable relationships.
- Support cross‑LOB penetration opportunities for existing H&B clients.
- Ensure high-quality delivery and client satisfaction across all engagements.
2. Business Development & Sales Leadership
- Manage the H&B pipeline and sales opportunities within the country.
- Partner with Client Relationship Directors, Country Head and Senior Consultants to drive new business.
- Support H&B sales opportunities across the region and globally.
- Lead H&B marketing efforts and execute business strategies to:
- Introduce new clients
- Expand relationships with existing clients
- Achieve annual revenue and growth targets
3. Intellectual Capital & Market Expertise
- Contribute to the development of WTW’s H&B Intellectual Capital through:
- New ideas
- Research
- Innovative client work
- Maintain deep knowledge of national and local vendor marketplaces and leverage insights for client benefit.
4. Talent Leadership & People Management
- Oversee the full H&B talent pool in-country.
- Develop and execute strategic staffing and people plans, including:
- Recruitment
- Deployment
- Performance management
- Development & engagement
- Ensure the team is aligned, skilled, and positioned to meet business priorities.
5. Regional & Country Leadership
- Member of the H&B Region Leadership Team: Collaborate with the Region Leader, Operations & PE teams, Head of Markets & Solutions, and other Country H&B Leaders to deliver on business plans, financial targets, and Intellectual Capital utilization.
- Member of the Country Leadership Team: Work with the Country Head and other LOB Leaders to implement the Nigeria business plan, with specific focus on H&B priorities, initiatives, and cross‑LOB collaboration.
6. Financial KPIs & Ownership
- Direct responsibility for H&B Nigeria P&L, including:
- Revenue growth
- Direct cost management
- Profitability
- Collaborate with Senior Consultants, Country Head, other LOB leaders, and CRDs to maximize country-level growth and P&L performance.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience in Health & Benefits, employee benefits, or insurance consulting.
- Proven track record in P&L leadership and business growth.
- Demonstrated success in managing senior client relationships and complex portfolios.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing teams and senior consultants.
- Strategic thinker with excellent commercial acumen.
- Strong knowledge of the Nigerian insurance/benefits market.
- Ability to operate in a matrix environment and influence stakeholders across regions.
