Job Description

Job Title: IT Specialist (3+ Years Experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Specialist with a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience to manage, support, and enhance our organization’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will independently resolve technical issues, maintain secure and reliable systems, and contribute to continuous IT improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
• Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and peripheral devices
• Monitor, manage, and optimize network performance (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/VPN)
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access control systems
• Implement cybersecurity measures, including antivirus, firewalls, patching, and backups
• Troubleshoot system outages and performance issues with minimal supervision
• Perform system upgrades, migrations, and technology rollouts
• Maintain IT documentation, asset inventories, and standard operating procedures
• Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and external IT partners
• Ensure data integrity, backup, and disaster recovery readiness
• Provide guidance and basic training to users on IT systems and best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/ HND in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 3 years proven experience in an IT Specialist or similar role
• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
• Experience with Active Directory, user management, and access controls
• Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and system maintenance
• Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.)
• Experience with cloud services (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, Google Workspace)
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Basic scripting or automation skills (PowerShell, Bash)
• Experience with ticketing systems and IT asset management tools

Work Environment

• On-site.
• May require after-hours or on-call support as needed.
