Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Content Developer (Storyteller & Copywriter) located in Abuja. The Content Developer will serve as the primary storyteller and copywriter for KSH FOUNDATION, transforming technical projects and innovations into compelling narratives for diverse audiences. The Content Developer ensures that every piece of communication from speeches to social posts tells KSH FOUNDATION’s story in a way that inspires trust, engagement, and global recognition.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop clear, engaging, and persuasive content across channels (web, social, newsletters, speeches, op-eds, press kits).
- Translate technical and engineering outputs into accessible human-interest stories and case studies.
- Write scripts and storyboards for video productions, documentaries, and campaigns.
- Collaborate with Creative, Digital, and Media teams to ensure content aligns with brand voice and visual identity.
- Support leadership with speeches, talking points, and editorial pieces for national and international engagements.
- Maintain a KSH FOUNDATION editorial style guide to ensure consistency of tone, voice, and messaging.
- Identify storytelling opportunities by monitoring stakeholder feedback, industry news, and project milestones.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills across multiple formats.
- Strong research and interviewing skills to extract insights from technical teams and stakeholders.
- Creativity in designing narratives that connect emotionally while reinforcing institutional credibility.
- Versatility in writing for different audiences (policy, industry, communities, youth, international partners).
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt quickly to fast-changing narratives.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital content optimization.
Deliverables (Annual)
- Editorial Style Guide for KSH FOUNDATION.
- Minimum 24 feature stories/case studies showcasing KSH FOUNDATION projects and impact.
- Minimum 12 leadership speeches/talking points for national/international platforms.
- Minimum 6 op-eds or thought-leadership articles placed in key outlets.
- Scripts and copy for all major video/documentary productions.
- Monthly content packs (website articles, blog posts, campaign copy).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Volume & Timeliness: 95% of planned content pieces delivered on schedule.
- Quality & Impact: Leadership and stakeholder feedback ratings on speeches, op-eds, and campaign copy.
- Media Uptake: 75% of op-eds, features, or stories successfully published/placed in target outlets.
- Engagement Metrics: Average engagement rate of content across KSH FOUNDATION’s digital platforms.
- Diversity of Content: Coverage of all stakeholder groups (industry, youth, academia, communities) within published content.
- Storytelling Innovation: Number of new storytelling formats piloted (interactive content, long-reads, micro-stories, etc.).
