Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Junior–Mid Level Software Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of internal software tools and platforms across multiple business initiatives.

This role is ideal for a developer who values code quality, peer collaboration, and thoughtful problem-solving, and who is comfortable conducting thorough technical research before implementing solutions. You will work in a lean environment, contributing to real features while learning and growing through structured feedback and peer review.

Note: This is a Hybrid role. Due to the Nigeria zipcode search limitation, fully remote was selected. However, this is not a fully remote role, it is a hybrid role.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• 1–4 years of software development experience (or equivalent hands-on experience)
• Working knowledge of at least one programming language (JavaScript, Python, Java, PHP, or similar)
• Familiarity with APIs, databases, and authentication concepts
• Ability to read, understand, and improve existing codebases
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Comfort participating in peer reviews and technical discussions
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Clear written and verbal communication skills

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

• Develop, enhance, and maintain application features (frontend, backend, or full-stack depending on skill set)
• Write clean, readable, and maintainable code aligned with best practices
• Conduct thorough research on technical approaches, libraries, frameworks, and patterns before implementation
• Assist with bug fixes, performance improvements, and feature enhancements
• Support API integrations, data flows, and automation workflows

Code Quality & Peer Review

• Participate actively in peer code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback
• Review pull requests to ensure code quality, consistency, and maintainability
• Apply feedback from reviews to continuously improve coding standards and implementation
• Follow version control and branching best practices (Git/GitHub)

Systems & Technical Support

• Assist with system configuration, environment setup, and deployment support
• Maintain clear technical documentation for features, workflows, and system behavior
• Support testing, validation, and release preparation
• Help troubleshoot issues across development and staging environments

Project Collaboration

• Translate business requirements into well-defined technical tasks
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify functionality and constraints
• Provide progress updates and participate in sprint, milestone, or review sessions
• Contribute to refactoring and continuous improvement efforts
