Job Description

Job Summary

The Electrical/Illumination Technician is a specialized technical role responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and optimization of electrical systems and lighting setups across all Group operations, including office facilities, outdoor (OOH) sites, and operational locations. This role ensures compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical & Illumination Installation

· Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, control systems, transformers, and lighting fixtures in offices, outdoor sites, and operational locations.

· Develop and execute customized lighting plans that align with project specifications and functional requirements.

· Ensure all installations comply with national electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

· Perform diagnostic tests to identify electrical faults, lighting malfunctions, and system inefficiencies.

· Resolve issues in lighting fixtures, electrical circuits, and related components promptly to minimize downtime.

· Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical and illumination systems on all sites.

3. Safety Compliance & Inspection

· Adhere to OSHA guidelines and company safety protocols during all electrical and illumination work.

· Conduct safety inspections to ensure systems meet regulatory codes and operational safety standards.

· Maintain accurate safety records and report any hazards or compliance issues.

4. Energy Efficiency & Innovation

· Advise on and implement energy-efficient lighting solutions, including LED technology, sensors, and automated systems.

· Propose strategies to reduce energy consumption and operational costs related to lighting.

· Stay updated on emerging lighting technologies, trends, and best practices in energy management.

5. Documentation & Reporting

· Prepare detailed reports on electrical performance, maintenance activities, issues resolved, and inspection outcomes.

· Maintain accurate records of all electrical and illumination work for project tracking and future reference.

· Document tool and equipment usage, condition, and maintenance needs.

6. Coordination & Collaboration

· Coordinate with architects, contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure proper integration of lighting systems with design plans.

· Work closely with the operations and site teams to align electrical work with project timelines and scope.

· Liaise with external vendors and suppliers for technical support and material procurement.

7. Tool & Equipment Management

· Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot tools and equipment used for electrical and illumination tasks.

· Ensure all tools are in safe working condition and stored properly after use.

· Report equipment faults and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.

Carry out all relevant task as assigned by your direct report and management team.

Key Requirements

Education

· Technical diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.

· Licensed electrician certification or equivalent professional accreditation is required.

· Certification in Health & Safety (e.g., OSHA) is advantageous.

Experience

· Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and illumination systems.

· Experience in outdoor advertising (OOH), construction, or facility management is preferred.

· Proven track record in troubleshooting, safety compliance, and energy-efficient lighting projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₦250,00.00 – ₦300,00.00 per month
