<p>Location: Nigeria (Multiple Farm Locations / Head Office)</p>
<p>Department: Internal Audit</p>
<p>Reports To: Managing Director / Audit Committee</p>
<p>JOB PURPOSE</p>
<p>The Internal Auditor ensures strong internal controls, financial accuracy, operational discipline, and compliance across all units of the integrated poultry value chain—breeder farms, hatcheries, feed mill, commercial farms, processing plant, logistics, and sales.</p>
<p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p>
<p>· Conduct routine audits of financial transactions, farm operations, feed mill, hatchery, and processing plant.</p>
<p>· Verify inventory accuracy for feed, vaccines, DOCs, live birds, Finished Goods, and farm consumables.</p>
<p>· Review compliance with biosecurity protocols, SOPs, and Nigerian regulatory standards.</p>
<p>· Monitor production data (mortality, FCR, hatchability, yields) for accuracy and integrity.</p>
<p>· Investigate irregularities, fraud risks, stock variances, and operational leakages.</p>
<p>· Prepare audit reports with findings and recommendations; track closure of audit issues.</p>
<p>· Fraud Prevention &amp; Investigations</p>
<p>· Proactively identify fraud risks and control weaknesses.</p>
<p>REPORTING &amp; STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT</p>
<p>· Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, root causes, risk ratings, and actionable recommendations as required by the Managing Director.</p>
<p>· Present audit findings to senior management and audit committees.</p>
<p>· Track and follow up on implementation of agreed corrective actions.</p>
<p>PROCESS IMPROVEMENT &amp; ADVISORY</p>
<p>· Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, cost control, and data integrity.</p>
<p>· Act as a trusted advisor to operational and finance teams while maintaining audit independence.</p>
<p>· Support continuous improvement initiatives and internal control awareness.</p>
<p>QUALIFICATIONS &amp; EXPERIENCE</p>
<p>Education</p>
<p>· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.</p>
<p>· ICAN, ACCA, CPA, CIA or equivalent professional qualification.</p>
<p>Experience</p>
<p>· Minimum of 6–10 years relevant internal audit, risk, or finance experience.</p>
<p>· Prior experience in agribusiness, poultry, FMCG, manufacturing, or large multi-site operations</p>
<p>· Proven experience leading audits and managing complex assignments.</p>

<p>Jaza is a solar energy start-up working to power Sub-Saharan Africa. We build solar-powered shops which charge batteries customers use to power their homes. In 2022, we achieved over 1.5 million battery swaps, providing approximately 186,000 people access to clean, affordable energy. We employ women from each community (known as Jaza Stars) to run the service, empowering our team to become leaders, entrepreneurs and drivers of economic growth within their communities. We’ve already successfully entered the Nigerian market, piloted several sites here and will grow to hundreds of locations over the next year. To support this expansion, we’re planning to hire over 200 people over the next 6 months.</p>
<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:</p>

<p>Job Position: Construction Engineer<br /> Job Location: Ibadan, Oyo</p>
<p>Job role</p>
<ul>
<li>The Expansion Construction Engineer is the owner of the process of service location acquisition, renovations and installation in our expansion process into new sites.</li>
<li>The Expansion Construction person finds suitable service locations, negotiates, leases, procure equipment, renovates, installs, audits and signs off on those allocated sites according to our company’s predefined standards.</li>
<li>Assess approved sites and identify suitable services locations, shops / plots of land for leasing that meet our defined standards.</li>
<li>Manage the lease or acquisition of shops or plot of land that meet our service location criteria.</li>
<li>Assess the acquired service location and identify preparations or renovations requirements.</li>
<li>Manage the sourcing of appropriate furniture producing factories/contractors that meet the set criteria to produce Jaza furniture and install hubs across allocated sites.</li>
<li>Request, procure, take delivery and document required items, tools and equipment needed for the completion of the work.</li>
<li>Ensure availability of furniture across allocated regions/sites undergoing Expansion to ensure there are no delays in the set timelines.</li>
<li>Monitor renovations and construction needs and constantly reports need for tools, materials and equipment with reference to the set targets across allocated locations undergoing Expansion</li>
<li>Manage quality checklists and ensure that they are adhered to in the process of acquisition, renovation and construction.</li>
<li>Work effectively with engineers, supply chain, and other construction teams, ensuring seamless integration between different parts of the project.</li>
<li>Document and report milestones reached during this process.</li>
</ul>
<p>Qualifications</p>
<ul>
<li>A relevant degree in construction management, civil engineering or a related field.</li>
<li>Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in similar role.</li>
<li>Understanding of the overall construction process, including shop or land negotiation, leasing and acquisition, renovation, site preparation, furnishing and foundation work, and structural assembly.</li>
<li>Ability to interpret blueprints and design specifications, especially for our customized hubs, ensuring they meet both the structural and electrical needs for solar installations.</li>
<li>Ability to think critically and come up with solutions for unique or complex construction challenges, particularly when working with already built shops.</li>
<li>Good data collection, analytical, and reporting skills.</li>
<li>Ability to commit to high level quality standards.</li>
<li>Clear communication skills to interact with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders and explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently, interact with people of different backgrounds, cultures, languages and to travel frequently to remote locations.</li>

<p>Jaza is a solar energy start-up working to power Sub-Saharan Africa. We build solar-powered shops which charge batteries customers use to power their homes. In 2022, we achieved over 1.5 million battery swaps, providing approximately 186,000 people access to clean, affordable energy. We employ women from each community (known as Jaza Stars) to run the service, empowering our team to become leaders, entrepreneurs and drivers of economic growth within their communities. We’ve already successfully entered the Nigerian market, piloted several sites here and will grow to hundreds of locations over the next year. To support this expansion, we’re planning to hire over 200 people over the next 6 months.</p>
<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:</p>

<p>Job Position: Solar Installation Engineer<br /> Job Location: Ibadan, Oyo</p>
<p>Job role</p>
<ul>
<li>The Solar Installation Engineer is the owner of the technical operations involved in the installation and maintenance at various sites.</li>
<li>This position reports to the Regional Service Engineer and works to ensure that our service locations have commissioning and installation of solar technical equipment completed to the pre-defined standards.</li>
</ul>
<p>Accountabilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Own the technical installation and maintenance process for our service locations by ensuring 100% compliance with the commissioning process.</li>
<li>Own and manage all tech activities, equipment and tools used in the commissioning process for new sites.</li>
<li>Own and audit the work completion per allocated site according to defined standards.</li>
</ul>
<p>Responsibilities</p>
<ul>
<li>Prepare a predeparture checklist of required items, tools and technical equipment for the commissioning of allocated sites.</li>
<li>Commission, install and maintain solar technical equipment at allocated sites by ensuring that all set processes according to the commissioning guidelines and documentations are accurately done and completed.</li>
<li>Ensure proper set up of new sites in the Star App, Dashboard and Dataverse before handing the site over to the regional tech.</li>
<li>Accurately file, respond to, update, and escalate technical issues in Gitlab.</li>
<li>Remotely troubleshoot and resolve Hub performance issues pre-golive. Travel to Hubs to resolve issues requiring in-person troubleshooting/repairs, for sites still under Expansion.</li>
<li>Ensure availability of working Jaza packs for Go-live by checking charge rate.</li>
<li>Ensure 100% connectivity at new sites and zero downtimes at all Hubs.</li>
<li>Keep accurate records of Hub/Shop Equipment and product component inventory during the commissioning phase.</li>
<li>Test new products and firmware as needed.</li>
<li>Work effectively with regional tech, supply chain, and other construction teams, ensuring seamless integration between different parts of the project.</li>
<li>Document and report milestones reached during this process.</li>
</ul>
<p>Qualifications</p>
<ul>
<li>Background in Electrical/Electronics or any related field.</li>
<li>Deep knowledge of PV system design, installation and maintenance.</li>
<li>Knowledge in electrical installation.</li>
<li>Good data collection, analytical, reporting and communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to commit to high level quality standards.</li>
<li>Ability to learn new technologies as required in the role.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently, interact with people of different backgrounds, cultures, languages and to travel frequently to remote locations.</li>
</ul>
