Job Description

Assistant Operations Manager – Restaurant (FOH & BOH)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Operations Manager to support daily operations across the restaurant’s Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH). The ideal candidate will ensure smooth service, excellent guest experience, staff coordination, and adherence to operational standards. This position functions as the Operations Manager’s key support and stand-in.

Key ResponsibilitiesFront of House (FOH)

  • Oversee and support wait staff, bar staff, runners, and hosts during service.
  • Ensure smooth floor operations, fast service flow, and professional guest interactions.
  • Handle complaints, special requests, and service escalations.
  • Monitor seating efficiency, table turns, and reservation management.
  • Maintain ambience (cleanliness, scent, music, lighting).

Back of House (BOH)

  • Coordinate with kitchen staff, chefs, production team, and dishwashers for timely and accurate order delivery.
  • Ensure food quality, portion control, and plating consistency.
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
  • Support stock control, inventory checks, and wastage monitoring.

General Operations

  • Ensure completion of opening, mid-shift, and closing checklists for FOH and BOH.
  • Monitor staff punctuality, grooming, and adherence to SOPs.
  • Support shift scheduling, attendance monitoring, and daily reporting.
  • Ensure equipment, tools, and restaurant spaces are well maintained.
  • Act as Operations Manager when required.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years experience in restaurant or hotel operations.
  • Strong ability to supervise FOH & BOH teams (waiters, bar, runners, hosts, kitchen, dishwashers).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of hygiene, safety, and service standards.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
